24 Hour Read-a-Thon is here!! My plans.....

Hello Friends!

Can you believe it's that time again? Time for Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-Thon!! I have decided once again to do a movie watch-a-thon instead of reading. It really worked well for me last time and I have a list of movies (based on books that I've read or want to read) to watch on Saturday.

Here is the list of the movies that I will be viewing:

  • Water for Elephants - read the book and loved it. Wondering what I will think of the movie version???
  • Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close- thought the book was amazing. Hope the movie is too!
  • Let Me In- I have the book and want to read it. Will watch this one while it's light out!!
  • The Lincoln Lawyer- want to read the book and Matthew is easy on the eyes!
  • The Shunning- Amish fiction by Beverly Lewis. I loved the book!
  • Miss Marple- haven't met her yet in my Agatha Christie journey but think the shows would be a fun way to get acquainted!
  • The Tale of Despereaux- I LOVED this book and think the animated movie looks adorable.
I hope everyone who participates has a great time !!

Read on!

  1. I've seen 4 of those movies and I think Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close was the best one. Have fun!!

  2. A movie-a-thon sounds great. I liked Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close a lot. I have a busy weekend so can't do either:(

  3. I think doing this as a movie thon is such a fun idea! Have a great time!

  4. This should be more fun than reading for 24 hours! Enjoy it!

  5. You know I am an Edward fan... but you WILL NOT like the Water for Elephants movie.... I loved THE BOOK.period.the end. --- Not even Reese could save that movie... sad....

Anyhoo.... not to be the debbie downer... lol!! Have FUN!!!! :)

  6. Oh--what a bunch of great looking movies--Maybe I should consider a movie-a-thon in the future, then I could knit all day too! :) Have fun--My son and I are getting our book stacks ready and later today I will be off to the grocery store to get our goodies. Have a super day!

  7. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close was a great movie, I loved it. I'll have to read the book now that I see it in your list. Enjoy your movie-thon.

  8. I'll be interested in what you think of Water for Elephants.
I don't have my pile of books picked out for tomorrow. I don't think I will this time. Just see what I'm in the mood for.

  9. The Girl and I thought Despereaux was a cute movie. Have fun!

  10. Have a great day enjoying the movies! I was going to participate, but my daughter got the day off so we will hang out together. I will cheer early in the morning and then again in the evening.

  11. Great idea doing a movie-a-thon, might consider that for next time, it's been 2 years since I did the readathon. Have fun :)

  12. I wish I had seenthis last week, I could have joined you! Having taken three days off the week before I knew I couldn't ask Jason to givew up family time two weekends in a row for the readathon, but movies we could have watched together. Please remind me next time :)

  13. I've been so busy that the read-a-thon completely passed me by this year. I love your idea though. Movies would be fun!
