It's hard to believe that another year is almost over! I've had a great year with the number of books that really touched me in some manner. My favorite book list comprises of books that made me laugh, smile, cry, freak out, become enlightened and at times I kept the characters in my heart for days.
Favorite Books read in 2011 in order that the book was read:
- Little Princes- moving memoir (Emotional Read)
- The Lotus Eaters- fantastic fiction takes place in Vietnam during Vietnam War (Emotional Read)
- Saving CeeCee Honeycutt- I loved her writing and CeeCee (Emotional)
- The Devil's Star- first intro to Jo Nesbo..(Thriller)
- When We Were Strangers- fantastic historical fiction (Emotional and gripping)
- To Defy a King- British historical fiction (Fascinating)
- By Fire, By Water- one of the best historical fiction books I've read! (Fascinating)
- The Hunchback of Neiman Marcus- hysterical and very true (Emotional)
- Only Mr. Darcy Will Do- fantastic Austen variation (Romantic)
- Faith- beautifully written contemporary fiction (Emotional)
- The Violets of March- simply gorgeous! (Emotional)
- A Wife for Mr. Darcy- made me daydream of Mr. Darcy (Romantic)
- Never Knowing- kept me in the grips of fear for hours! (Thriller)
- Northwest Corner- I loved his writing...(Emotional)
- The Homecoming of Samuel Lake- fantastic characters! (Emotional)
- To the Moon and Back- British Chick lit at its finest (Romantic)
- The Rose Garden- wonderful time travel story (Romantic)
- Shadowfever- phenomenal paranormal- (Thriller/Romantic/Riveting)
- Cross Currents- wonderful author with a beautiful story (Emotional)
- The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt- loved everything about this gem! (Fun)

To Defy A King was fantastic read. My friend keeps telling me I should read The Violets of March. Just keep adding to me tbr list.

I have two of yours on my best reads list this year, too and several more on my TBR list! Lotus, Nesbo (The Redbreast), Hunchback, Jio (currently reading The Bungalow and was bummed that it didn't making your list) and a Shors book are all waiting for me. If the Mansell book happens to appear before my eyes as an audiobook one day, I'll give it a try just because it made your list of 2011! :)
