Fitness Friday Update #5

What I've been doing:
At the moment I still haven't been released back to exercising or being able to mow my lawn!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully next week my doctor will give me the green light. Today was the first day where I've been able to walk normally!!! I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things and to really see my numbers fall in the coming weeks!

  Weight Watchers and Me:
I was just introduced to The Hungry Girl, by my awesome blogging friend Jenny (Jenny Loves to Read). If you haven't checked out this site and you participate in the WW program, I urge you to visit it today and sign up for her free newsletter!! After checking out Hungry Girl, I immediately requested all 3 of her cookbooks. I've been reading them very intently and decided to buy my own copies. I'm really excited to mix up my food a bit and to also incorporate some better choices for substitutions of those loved fried foods.

  1. Well, great minds think alike! I just put two of her cookbooks on hold yesterday!

I did not realize that she had a blog, so I will now go check that out - and I am hoping to start my treadmill routine (again) next week.

    Have a great holiday weekend!

  2. Even without exercising your numbers are failing girl. Keep it up.
I've increased my Zumba classes to 3 a week and I'm feeling really good!

  3. Wow, you are just doing great! I want to check on those cookbooks also. I haven't been able to exercise either. Usually I love having an excuse, but I got hurt while having a session with the pick axe - not a great way to get out of exercise! :--)

  11. Hey Staci, I just caught sight of your little chart on the bottom -- wow -- you are doing really well!

I stepped on the scale at the gym this morning -- nothing's moving. I'm still eating more than I'm exercising I guess.

    Your achievement spurs me on!

    Congrats. Brenda

  12. Yay, Staci! You're doing great and yes, I like the Hungry Girl site. She got me started on Vitamuffin tops. She's on FB (although I'm not anymore).

  13. Glas you like her and that your back is healing. I haven't tries her fiber one breadcrumbs yet. I don't have a food processor so it's a lot of work. Maybe over the summer....
Keep up the good work :)

  14. I hope your back gets better quickly so you can get back to doing what you want. Pain certainly puts a damper in things. I'll have to check that website out - sounds interesting.

  16. You are doing so great, Staci! I am glad you are up and walking now. I am on a lifestyle makeover myself and trying to figure out how to cook, among other things, so I can stop the inevitable "grab whatever" mantra we've got going here that leads to nowhere good. I am interested in good substitutions, fried foods have been part of my upbringing (I am from the South, after all) so that has been one thing I am letting go of. Another is trying to eat fruit when I crave something sweet and to drink less soda (which is the absolute hardest part of all- I am addicted.) I am determined to be healthier and skinnier by the time by sister's July 3rd wedding comes around!

  18. I bet seeing those '50's on the scale made you feel pretty damn good eh? Great work - often an injury will lead to lazy excuses. Glad to see you are staying committed.
