TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

Isabel rose to shake hands with the young man. The palm of his hand was warm, and slight moist, and she thought: He's been in the shower. That was why he had been dashing naked across the hall.

I am currently in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have just attended a symphony and witnessed a young man fall to his death. Did he fall or was there something more sinister behind this "accident?"

ReplyDeleteOne to take a closer peek at! ;)
ReplyDeleteI really need to read his books! Great teaser!
ReplyDeleteI like the teaser! Am I the only person who has not read any of his books??
ReplyDeleteDiane -- I started one of the books once, and just could not get interested. But I'm always willing to try again!
ReplyDeleteMy teaser is from a memoir called "Replacement Child." Title says the premise -- the author ( Judy Mandel) is "born in fire," as her parents "replace" a child lost when a plane crashes into their home (and badly burns another sister). It goes back in time with her parents as they meet and marry, and follows through the aftermath of the tragedy. You know, as horrific as what happens is, the book does point out that life is still worth living, and that there is recovery after losing a child. And the cover is fabulous.
From page 134:
"Music had also become a way for me to infiltrate the male dominated garage band scene. There was only room for one girl singer in a band, even if I was grudgingly included to sing the Jefferson Airplane or Janis Joplin tunes they wanted to play. I liked being the only girl in the room at rehearsals."
Excellent teaser! I have heard these books are must read.
ReplyDeleteHere's my teaser
Hope this finds you well. Sorry for being MIA of late :)
Ooh, a little raciness going on. I have wondered about this author. I may have to pick one of these books up next time I am out at the bookstore.
ReplyDeleteA mystery. Sounds like a good one.
