asks us to list what we brought home from
the library this week.
Geez, I think I just need to step up to the front of the class and tell you all right now, "I'm a bookaholic and I need help." There, it's out in the open and we can all see that I have problems and I'm trying to come to grips with them....maybe!! I went to the library because there was 1 book waiting for me, did you hear me? I said 1, but I came home with 5 extra ones. Somehow when I got up to the check-out counter there were all these "extra" reads. Here is what I brought home:
The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman--I saw this on someone's blog in reference to the WWII Challenge. I usually always mark where I saw the book review but this time I messed up! I will blame all my book blogging buddies.
The Owl Service by Alan Garner--This is entirely Nymeth's fault. Read her awesome review here.
Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard--no one to blame for this one. I saw this at B&N and thought it might be interesting to read. Then I ran across a student that was reading the series and she told me they were good, so I figured why not?
Against Medical Advice by James Patterson--I thought that this story just sounded interesting. I want to know what is wrong with this little boy and how his family helped him.
Sucks to Be Me- The All-True confessions of MINA HAMILTON Teen Vampireby Kimberly Pauley
-- I'm a sucker for a teen vampire story!
Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr--I've seen this book and the author on blogs so when I ran across this one I decided to add it to my pile, because I'm INSANE!!!!

ReplyDeleteLOL-maybe we should start an online support group. I'm almost scared to tell you how good the Pretty Little Liars series is cause then you're likely to blame me for having to read them. lol. Anyhow, they're a great YA series and I've enjoyed getting to know the girls. I'm anxiously awaiting the sixth one now I think. Happy Reading.

I feel your pain - I have a virtual list of over 300, but I have over 50 books checked out from the library sitting on my floor right now. I despair of ever reading all of them. Maybe one day . . .

I actually am not too bad at only picking up only what is on hold! I just put a lot of books on hold at any one time!

Haven't read any of those, but I have both The Zookeeper's Wife and Against Medical Advice on the TBR shelves right now, and both The Owl Service and Wicked Lovely on the wish list. You know, I think we just might all be insane!

Oh do read The Zookeeper's Wife. The story is entirely true but reads as easily as a good novel. It's a great story. I'd love to know what you think afterward.
