Mailbox Monday and It's Monday...What Are You Reading???

Mailbox Monday
is a gathering place for readers to share the books that
came into their house last week and explore great book blogs.
Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

I've always meant to read The Great Gatsby and watch the original movie. When I saw that Mary@Bookfan purchased this one on audible.com and enjoyed it, I knew that audio was the ticket for me. And at $4.88 it really wasn't a tough decision to make!

We discuss the books that we've read
and what we're planning to read for the week.

Read and talked about last week:
The Good House- awesome audio...will be a top pick this year for sure!
The Darkest Hour- romance, adventure, and family at the heart, will be back for more!

Bookish Thoughts to share this week:
Stories I Only Tell My Friends by Rob Lowe- audio book
Looking For Me by Beth Hoffman

I won't be around much this week visiting and commenting on blogs as we are coming into the home stretch for Marc's Graduation on June 2nd. I have last minute things to order, purchase, and tweaking the rooms for family to sleep in, and generally being a total wreck!!

Take care my friends and I will be back with photos for sure!

  1. It really is a great book - I just have to, one of these days, get over Robert Redford as Gatsby. I just can't feel like he's not the perfect man!

  6. I read Great Gatsby last year and enjoyed it, and then I read The Great Lenore, which is based on the ideas in Fitzgerald's book. I enjoyed both.

  8. I think Jake Gyllenhaal did a wonderful job with the narration, Staci. It's one of my favorite books so I hope you enjoy it.

  11. I was going to pick up that audio although its not that cheap for me in Canada. Still not too bad at ten bucks. Hope all goes well with the grad plans. Can't wait to hear about it!

  12. I remember reading The Great Gatsby in high school but don't remember any of the details. That's sad, isn't it? Enjoy!

  13. maybe I should give it another try. I read it in school and I didn't like it. I didn't like the original movie either. I watched it because I was a teenager and adored Robert Redford.

  14. I read TGG before blogging, and all I remember is that I didn't care for it. I put it in the typical classics category. I know many people who have thoroughly enjoyed the movie. I have no intentions to see it.
