Every Tuesday, Diane @ Bibliophile by the Sea
posts the opening paragraph (maybe two) of a book
she decided to read based on the opening paragraph (s).
Feel free to grab the banner and play along!
My pick this week is, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I accepted this book last year as a "possible" review book for 2013 and after seeing a lot of positive thoughts about it, I think I will read it for sure!!
Prologue
2007
When he emerges from the bathroom she is awake, propped up against the pillows and flicking through the travel brochures that were beside his bed. She is wearing one of his T-shirts, and her long hair is tousled in a way that prompts reflexive thoughts of the previous night. He stands there, enjoying the brief flashback, rubbing the water from his hair with a towel.
Would you continue reading this one
based on the opening paragraph?
Well.....great intro, but, I think I know what might happen next LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you like this one; I'll be watching for your review.
I haven't heard anything about this book, so all I know from the intro is sex and travel. That's enough for me. I'd keep going. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteNaw, sounds too stereotype-romance-novel-ish.
ReplyDeleteThis is another book on my list! I love the intro...so I'm going to get this book soon! I hope....
ReplyDeleteHere's MY TUESDAY MEMES POST
This is on my list of books I want to read - so many good reviews that I have to read it!
ReplyDeleteI have seen this book around and got the impression people liked it. I'd keep reading.
ReplyDeleteI am biased because I read this book a year ago, and I know what's coming - so yes, yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteHmm it does sound kind of good and I love the cover! I'm not sure, though. Is it a romance? I'm not partial to romances.
ReplyDeleteI'd keep reading. I have this on my stacks.
ReplyDeleteThat's a sexy start! I'd want to more after reading that. :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I'd pick it up the book based on the title. I like it. Even though I can predict what's most likely to happen in this novel based on the first paragraph, I'd keep going. I love a good romance.
ReplyDeleteI'd definitely read this one. I keep hearing great things about it, hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED this book. I highly recommend you read it.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmmm I am thinking I would keep reading! :)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love, love, loved this book! So good - funny, emotional, deep! One of my favourite reads of last year!
ReplyDeleteI loved this book and I think you will too. But that first paragraph isn't really representative - what follows is less obvious and much more engaging.
