This is a picture that was taken yesterday at the orthopedic doctor's office after it was determined that Marc actually DID fracture his thumb 4 weeks ago! I feel like the world's worst mom! But my son doesn't complain about pain so we really just thought that it was badly jammed! Don't you love that purple? We had to get some groceries afterwards and a little girl laughed at the color of his cast! Too funny!
OUCH! Yes, I do love the purple cast. That's style! I love his t-shirt, too. :) Healing thoughts are being sent his way.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor guy! Cool cast color though. I hope you don't feel too bad about not realizing it though - it's sometimes hard to tell a fracture from a sprain.
ReplyDeletePoor guy! But if he won't say that it hurts, what's a mom to do? I always think it's interesting how far up the arm they have to cast when you break something in your hand.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
Wow, I've heard of it taking a while for people to realize they had a broken bone, but 4 weeks! He must be very stoic!
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a cast (I hadn't realized a broken thumb would require such a large cast). I didn't take my son to the doctor until the next day when he broke his arm last fall because he's such a tough guy too. It's hard to make those tough boys tell you when they are hurting. Hope his thumb feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteSorry it is broken, does he need surgery?! We have all felt that way Staci!
ReplyDeleteWow, big cast for a broken thumb! Now the key question--does he have clothes to match that striking color? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a big cast for a broken thumb! Marc is sure to get a lot of extra attention with a purple cast ;-)
ReplyDeleteDon't feel like a terrible Mom! I come from an entire family that never complains about pain. The first time you know anything is wrong is when one of us says, "I'm going to the doctor/hospital now." We must drive everyone who marries into the family completely nuts!
ReplyDeleteIf you have to have a cast you may as well make a statement lol. Having a laugh at Marc's shirt too :D
ReplyDeleteHey, moms are busy. They can't make a big deal out of every bump and bruise. Sorry he broke it though. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteI like the color of the cast. Some yellow stickers would look nice!
ReplyDeleteI like the color of his cast. It needs some yellow stickers or smiley faces!
ReplyDeleteI like the color of the cast. It can start a nice conversation and of course the statement on his t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteOh, no! And if it doesn't hurt, you don't think it's broken....not a bad mom!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like he's going to enjoy the attention from the cast.
Poor kid - but don't feel too bad, Mom! If there's no blood, no complaining about pain, and no bone protruding, we have no way of knowing what's going on inside. Love his t-shirt!
ReplyDeleteHope it mends soon. I think if I ever get a cast (knock on wood that I don't) I would want a hot pink one.
ReplyDeleteWishing him speedy healing...
ReplyDeleteOUCH! And yes, yay to the purple! Hope everything heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh no and ouch! How did he stand it for so long? I doubt I could have. Hope it heals up as quick as it can. That kind of puts a damper in his sports doesn't it. I bet he's not happy about that.
ReplyDeleteFour weeks with a broken thumb? You've raised a tough one :)
ReplyDeleteOhhh Staci don't be too hard on yourself. I was never the type to rush to the ER either. He'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteI love the color of the cat. At least it is a darker color and won't show all the dirt it will accumulate over the summer. I was not one to run to the ER either.
ReplyDeletei hope your son feels better soon! i do love the purple cast though. it matches his shorts. its crazy how big the cast is though for just a broken thumb. when i first saw the picture i thought his whole arm was broken. i'm glad that wasn't the case though.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!!!!!
ReplyDeletePurple is the new pink!
ReplyDeleteMy son just jammed his finger playing basketball. Still twice the size it should be but I think it's okay. Hope Marcus is doing alright now!
he must be immune to pain! hope he's feeling better soon. Is he still in his play?
ReplyDeleteI hope it heals quickly! I had to laugh at his shirt, though. haha
ReplyDeleteYikes, hope he is well on his way to healing by now!
