With the weather being extremely strange this year, my Flowering Plum Bush exploded with flowers a few weeks ago. We had about a week of lovely temps and then several nights with freeze warnings. Not the greatest picture....I apologize for my lack of photography skills!!
What pretty blossoms! I think a lot of the flowers have bloomed early - even our wildflowers. Most are almost gone now and we're turning brown again. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNo apologies needed - it's beautiful! We have a miniature flowering plum and it got flowers for about 2 days last month, and they looked just like that! :--)
ReplyDeleteI do love the colors...they are lush! Thanks for sharing...and here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT
ReplyDeleteThe contrast of colors between the pale plum flowers and the dark foliage is striking. You do take good pictures!
ReplyDeleteBeauty in the making! I have a similar flower, though it is more purple. The brief buds are pink.My Snapshot.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love spring? The blooms, life starting over.
ReplyDeletePretty! This time of year here the star jasmine and magnolias are bursting in bloom.....the scent is like heaven and I try to read outside as much as possible to enjoy it. Have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the dimension of this pic, too :-)
ReplyDeleteThat one is beautiful! Our blooms all came early this year too.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a lovely shot. Beautiful blossoms.
ReplyDeleteWe, too, had that warm stretch and then three nights of hard frost ... we're worried about the wild strawberries and blueberries that had blossomed ... hope they are resilient! Your plum tree's blossoms are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love plum blossoms. I had a spring moment this year realizing they were out all of a sudden. Very spring-y!!
ReplyDelete-Burgandy Ice
Oh, I love when trees and bushes suddenly burst into flower!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! I don't think we'll ever see anything flower here. We're back to cold and raining this morning. We're lucky if we get ine nice day in five. I want summer already!
ReplyDeleteNo apology needed... it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. We have all sorts of weather these days too, just the way it goes :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bush. Does the foliage stay purple all year? I'm landscaping my front yard and have to choose a few new shrubs and I'm looking for color and flowers.
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty...
ReplyDeleteHere is my Saturday Snapshot post!
The flowers on that plum bush look perfect - love the white against the red.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about conflicting emotions on this. I love that the flowers are early, but I fear for them too. We have strawberries ripe already. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteAh, they look so fragile!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting looking flower - I don't think I've ever seen one before!
ReplyDeleteI wonder, is it called a flowering plum bush because of the color of the leaves, or does it bear fruit? Because those leaves are a beautiful plum color. :)
ReplyDeleteI have flowers I'm afraid of losing, too. Hopefully, yours will survive!
ReplyDeleteHere are my British Snapshots
Gorgeous flowers! I don't think I've ever seen plum blossoms before.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot
I don't think that I've ever heard of this kind of bush before but it is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat bush is cool!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your weather sounds so like our crazy up-and-down weather here in Montreal.
ReplyDeleteNo need for apologies-- I just learned about a very pretty shrub that I'd never heard of before! :-)
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen one of those before, my question is the same as Alyce's ... does it bear fruit?
