Mailbox Monday is a gathering place for readers to share the books that
came into their house last week and explore great book blogs.
Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
I'm so so excited to be hosting Mailbox Monday for the month of August! Thanks to Marcia for creating one of my favorite memes ever and for trusting fellow bloggers like myself to host it every month. I look forward to visiting each and every blogger that stops by on Mondays. I love peeking into your world and seeing what lovely books showed up for you to read. I will be running a giveaway for each week where I will enter the numbers from Mr. Linky into random.org and whatever number comes up I will notifiy that reader and they can then choose from my grab bag of books that I currently have accumulated!! I will be adding to the choices as August winds down. Let's have some fun!!!!!
All review books from Sourcebooks....love this company!
Utterly Charming by Kristine Grayson - great romance author
To the Moon and Back by Jill Mansell- can't go wrong with great Brit Chick Lit
Never Been Bit by Lydia Dare- book 3 of Regency Vampyre Trilogy (so can't wait to read!)
--------------------------------------------------------------
We discuss the books that we've read and what we're planning to read for the week.
Read and reviewed last two weeks:
The Book of Lies- not a bad read, did like getting to know more about Guernsey
Whispers in the Sand-great escapism historical fiction
Secret Daughter- good read about India and what happens if you're born a girl there.
Close Your Eyes- great characters and family dysfunction
Remember Me- okay read about estranged friends
The Last Letter From Your Lover- spotlight and giveaway
Slow Dancing on Price's Pier- good beach read

ReplyDeleteHappy hosting!
Hope you enjoy all of your books! Thanks for hosting this....
ReplyDeleteIs it Monday already? I better get hopping and take a picture of my books...LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your new one Staci.
Hi Staci,
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking up the gauntlet and hosting 'Mailbox Monday'. This is such a geat meme and I try to participate whenever time permits.
You posted some great reviews this week and a couple in particular caught my eye.
'The last Letter From Your Lover' is a new title and author to me, but I have already added this to my reading list.
I found a copy of 'Whispers In The Sand' that I didn't know I had in my TBR pile. My mother-in-law must have passed it on to me at some time, so I have placed it right near the top of the pile, so hopefully will get to it very soon.
Even though I am a Brit, I haven't read anything of Jill Mansell's yet. She does receive some very good press and reviews over here, and this story sounds great, so it could be a good one for me to cut my teeth on.
Thanks for some great recommendations.
Yvonne
These look GREAT! :):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed so many books from Sourcebooks also!
ReplyDeleteI've never read Jill Mansell, but I've heard good things about her books. I LOVED Secret Daughter and had a chance to meet the author.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to see what you have to say on The Landlord's Black Eyed Daughter since it's from one of my favorite poems.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
I finished love letter at the gym yesterday... the second story is 100% chic-lit but it's a solid novel.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy/enjoyed it too!
I'm at my new HQ (yes.. the strike happened). :)
Have a great week!
You did well with reading and reviewing. I like Jill Mansell's writing and have a few of her books on mt tbr lol.

ReplyDeleteThe books you have from Sourcebooks are new titles to me. Last Letter From Your Lover sounds like a book I'd like. That one is going on my to-read list.
ReplyDeleteGreat mailbox :D I can't wait to see what happens in the new Lydia Dare
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, hope you enjoy the Jill Mansell!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some good reads...particularly that Jill Mansell I can't wait to read!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are continuing to read by what strikes you instead of by a schedule. :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you got the Jill Mansell book, too. She totally rocks that genre. ;) Thanks for hosting!

I have a couple of Jill Mansell books to read but just haven't gotten to them yet. Enjoy your new books! Secret Daughter sounds good too!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of the new Mansell book. Hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteOooo Book of Lies sounds interesting!! I might move that book to the top of the list to read! I still want to read Slow Dancing on Price's Pier too!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI have a GIVEAWAY going for one of the books I got last week.
Thanks for hosting. Enjoy your books. I'm with you on picking up whatever grabs my attention. I'm not very good at planning ahead.
ReplyDeleteI love Jill Mansell books - I know I would like that one!
ReplyDeleteHeya August host, sorry I didn't post last week! Enjoy all your new reads!
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't get any books in the mail, but I did buy three that had been on my wish list for quite some time yesterday: The Help, One Day, and Heart of the Matter. I'm reading HotM right now. It feels a little different than other Emily Giffin books I've read. The characters don't seem as strong as ones she's written about before like Rachel and Darcy from Something Borrowed. I'm hoping it still turns out good, though. A girl I work with really liked it, and suggested I read it first.
ReplyDeleteI'm a day late to the party:) I was out of town but had my MM post up. I linked it now. Thanks for hosting! I'll be back soon after I get caught up a bit.
ReplyDeleteUtterly Charming loks exactly that!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Jill Mansell's book. I have loved all that I've read so far.
