posts the opening paragraph (maybe two) of a book
she decided to read based on the opening paragraph (s).
Feel free to grab the banner and play along!
My pick this week comes from TLC Tour book, What Happened to My Sister, that I will be hosting on August 14th. I have read two other books by this author and really enjoyed them, so agreeing to review this one was a no-brainer!
If you're reading this, I must be dead and maybe you're going through this notebook hunting for clues. It always bugs me when I'm looking real hard for something and after a long time it turns up right under my nose where it was the whole time, so I'm going to tell you right her in the beginning all I know for certain. It may or may not make sense right now but who knows, maybe it will later on.
Would you continue reading this one
based on the opening paragraph?
This is one I've been meaning to read (how many times have i said that recently...LOL) seriously, it sounds like one that would pull me in. enjoy
ReplyDeleteI would soooooooooooo keep going!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd keep reading because I already want to read this book! Lol. I can't wait for your review.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely keep going!
ReplyDeleteheck yeah! Caught my attention straight away and I want more, even though it's probably one of those gutwrenching reads!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I would definitely keep reading.

ReplyDeleteoh yes that is an attention grabber! I'd keep reading!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Came across this today from Publisher's Weekly: "While Carrie’s abuse is distressing, readers will be more troubled by choices Flock has made in telling her story. Carrie as narrator has the expected limited perspective of a child and a by-the-book colloquial voice; she petitions the reader’s sympathy too soon and fails to ever come to life. Ham-fisted coincidences, broad caricatures, and awkward plot twists don’t help."
ReplyDeleteBut I think her fans won't care.
