Read-a-Thon Wrap Up!
1. Which hour was most daunting for you? I'm sure that I would've been able to stay up later than 2:00 am if my power wouldn't have gone out. It's 2:22 pm and it still is not back on!!! I'm using my computer at my hubby's job. Had to have a hot shower and electricity to juice up my phone and computer!
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?
I can only speak for the ones that I read and enjoyed.
* Hunger Games
* I Hadn't Meant to Tell You This
* Out of My Mind
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? Are you kidding?? I'm always blown away by how great it runs!! Excellent job this year!
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? Everything!!! I really thought it was a class act!
5. How many books did you read? 3
6. What were the names of the books you read? see #2
7. Which book did you enjoy most? The Hunger Games
8. Which did you enjoy least? liked them all
9. If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? Have fun! My advice is to participants: if you live journal...make it so that Anon. people can post. Twitter accounts to post a comment on a blog??? Make commenting as easy as possible for the cheerleaders!! I came across many blogs that were just not user friendly...makes it hard to cheer!!!
10. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Oh yes, I'll be back cheering and reading!!!

I can't believe you resisted the urge to read Catching Fire! Maybe if your power hadn't gone out! Of course, I am a series maniac, and have no patience, so it could be you are more of a normal person than I am! :--)
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Staci! One of these times I'll be able to join in the fun. What bad timing for a power outage...
ReplyDeleteNo power still? Bummer!
ReplyDeleteLove the turtle pic :)
Great job! I Hadn't Meant to Tell You This is a great book!
ReplyDeletehope your power returns soon. I have power, but a solid wall of rain outside. So I am not going anywhere until absolutely necessary. I'm cleaning up from Yesterday, Watching Dr. Who and then maybe I'll read a bit.
ReplyDeleteWish I had more time for the read-a-thon. I finished only one book! But I wrote a minireview of it too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing :D
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's hard to read in the dark, even if you have candles and/or flashlights. As long as you had fun, it doesn't really matter.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the readathon -- you did great!
ReplyDeletei can't believe the electricity is still not on!!! sounds like U still had fun though! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all the reading that you did!
ReplyDeleteYou did great! It was a lot of fun. I agree that some of the blogs were not user friendly. Thanks for the tip about changing mine so you don't have to put in the identity code or whatever. Can't wait until the next one! I can't believe I did the whole 24 hours (well, with a nap during hour 22).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing the read-a-thon! And I really hope your power is back by now - there's nothing I hate more than no power - so I know how you feel!
ReplyDeleteThis was fun wasnt it? Love your post here!
ReplyDeletePower outages = no good!! I am so sorry for you. I guess Hunger Games is going on my list next time around--both my boys devoured the 2 that are out--and now my son-in-law is hooked too!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have power in time for Monday morning!
*smiles*
Losing power stinks! Sorry it had to happen during the Read-a-Thon. You did great, though. Congrats!

I am amazed at the determination and excitement of the readathoner's! You had fun and read three book with a power outage added in!
ReplyDeleteYou did great in spite of the power outage. I agree with you on this update. The RAT is really well organized and a class act. Also, I had the same reaction when it came to cheerleading. I'm not sure why people make it so hard to leave comments unless they are ignorant about their own blog system.
ReplyDeleteI had fun doing the readathon too. It was my first time as an official cheerleader and I was surprised at how hard it was to keep up with all the postings. I feel like I didn't cheer enough but I know next year I will be better prepared! I'm glad I signed up and discovered some new blogs (like yours).
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful read-a-thon! I agree with the livejournal comment - I felt bad for not cheering those readers on.
ReplyDeleteYou did great Staci! Glad you had fun. I was battling a migraine so didn't even get any cheering in this year.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I didn't participate due to my personal circumstances that made me down last week, I am having fun reading all the recaps. You did well Staci and I think Twitter would be a great way for hourly update on the readings.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had fun - well, until the power went out. I was sorry to miss it this time around.
