Last night I had to go into town to pick up a few things. So because my hubby was working nights and Marc was away at football camp, I decided to eat at the Chinese buffet. This was my first time having a stir fry done and while standing in line I noticed the sushi bar. My oldest, Mitchell, loves this stuff. So I thought I would try to make a connection with him and put these two on my plate. The back one was pretty good...not sure what was all in it but I liked it just fine. The front one...EGADS!! I almost lost my dinner!!! But I've been told by my daughter-in-law to be that I should not judge sushi by a Chinese restaurant and that I must go with them to their favorite Japanese Sushi place.....wish me luck!!!!
I do wish you luck with that - you're much braver than I am! I still haven't been willing to try sushi.
ReplyDeleteYou're braver than I am! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck - haven't quite plucked up enough courage to try restaurant style sushi. I did, however, have a friend make some at her home for little appetizers and they were quite good (mostly veggie with a bit of shrimp -- I asked before I placed it in my mouth!)
ReplyDeleteOK, sushi. I know that people love it. My husband and daughter love it. Me, not so much...at all. I like some, but not very many types and what I like I can stand about once a year. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter-in-law is probably right about getting it at Japanese restaurant. No, if you want to talk about tepanyaki dining - Benihana type - I absolutely love that. Good luck, but in my opinion, sushi is not for everyone. LOL
See, that's the thing with me with a Sushi restaurant. Who the heck knows what the heck is inside those pretty little packages?!!
ReplyDeleteI love sushi, but the stuff I tried is pretty tame. I've always ordered mine from the menu so I know what's in the them.
ReplyDeleteGood luck next time.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteGreat snapshot! I don't think I could eat Sushi. The thought of eating raw fish just wouldn't work with me and my stomach. Have a great day!

You are a stronger woman than I am. I can't get the stuff into my mouth. Everyone in my family loves it but me.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a love it or hate it thing. My hubby and daughters love it, my son and I - not so much. Good luck :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are braver than me... I am not a fish girl... lol! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteI know many rave about sushi, but it's not for me:(
ReplyDeleteMy oldest son loves it. Myself, I'm content to watch him happily eat it. None for me thank you!
ReplyDeleteI love Sushi, good luck with your next try.
ReplyDeleteI would not choose it, but have tried a couple that have been tolerable. Just not a fan.
ReplyDeleteYou are very brave Staci. I've been there to the buffet, but haven't had the guts to try this!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE sushi. I don't think I've ever met a roll I don't like. When I go I always get a spicy tuna roll and a spider maki roll (soft shell crab).
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would ever eat sushi from a buffet though. Just doesn't sound good.
I hope when you have good sushi that you will love it.
Lol. Good luck! I have never tried it and I sure am scared to
ReplyDeleteSushi? not for this squeamish old lady! Sometimes it's better not to know what is in Chinese food. Have a wonderful weekend and happy Dad's Day to "Mr. Staci". Hope you're relishing your summer vacation.
ReplyDeleteBeing a vegetarian, I wouldn't try Sushi but good for you! It's important to try new things, something I'm always striving for...
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of feeling closer to your son through sushi. I hope he's doing okay.
Have a wonderful day!
I tried sushi at a Chinese buffet awhile back and had a similar experience. I liked one and couldn't stomach the other. I had no idea what was in them though!
ReplyDeleteOh no, Jenny doesn't do sushi. I have a seafood allergy and I'm so afraid I will eat something I shouldn't. Chinese on the other hand...yummy :)
ReplyDeleteKudos for trying it.
I wish you luck. I wouldn't touch the stuff with a ten foot pole. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI tried sushi once. Guess that tells you how much I liked it ;)
ReplyDeleteOh my. I don't care how good some people think it is - it's not going in my mouth! You are a brave soul. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYou are brave. About the only thing I'll eat is a california roll with crab and avocado. The rest - don't have the stomach for, unless I know what it is.
