Can I just say that I love my book reading friends?? Your reviews, Mailbox Mondays, Waiting on Wednesday, It's Monday...What are you Reading, Teaser Tuesdays, and Library Loot posts have a big impact on what I've been reading the past year. Who said that memes were a waste of time??? I know that there are bloggers out there that wouldn't be caught dead participating in one, but I'm thankful that so many of us do, because my choices and knowledge of new releases and new-to-me authors has grown exponentially!!! (sort of like a few rabbits getting busy...if you know what I mean!!!) Without this blogging community and fun memes that bring us together on a weekly basis I know that my reading experience would not be as rich. So for that I thank you all and now will proceed to blaming people for loading up my library bag this week....You've been very naughty this week!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wedding Cake - Lynne Hinton
Who is to blame? Bonnie (Redlady's Reading Room)
Why? Because a while back she reviewed 'Christmas Cake' and I loved her review so much that she generously sent me her copy. So when I was looking at books today and noticed this author, I remembered Bonnie's review and grabbed it! Don't you love how I blamed Bonnie in such a crazy roundabout way??
A Cottage by the Sea- Ciji Ware
Who is to blame? Kaye (Pudgy Penguin Perusals)
Why? I fell in love with her review of this book because it takes place in Cornwall, which is on top of my MUST visit before I die locations. After reading her review I requested it immediately from my library!
The Bride Collector- Ted Dekker
Who is to blame? Nise (Under the Boardwalk)
Why?I really enjoy Dekker but after reading Nise's review and her description of this book being like a roller coaster ride made me realize that I had to read it now instead of later!!
Books Read in 2010 to date: 95

Lol, yes Ware has caught my eye too ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat cover on Cottage By the Sea.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing all the new books that people are getting and reading too. Cottage by the see is looking very god to me. I wish I were disciplined enough to participate in memes, but I just aven't been able too get it together to do anything on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteStaci, Staci, Staci if you only knew how many books are on my list due to your wonderful reviews! I sure hope you enjoy A Cottage by the Sea as much as I did. The setting was a huge factor with me too. For some inexplicable reason, Cornwall calls to me. If only I could win the lottery . . . . .
ReplyDeleteLOL LOL LOL!!! U are soooooooooooooooooo funny!!! Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the title of this post!! I was like...I coulda told Staci that!! LOL!!! Love ya girl!!! Crack me up! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, that's certainly one reason I don't usually read those memes - I already have enough TBR books stacked up! :--)
ReplyDeleteI put A Cottage By The Sea on my "get this book list" because of Kaye's review as well. Be sure you start The Bride Collector early in the day as you won't want to put it down!!
ReplyDeleteLove it. No blame for me :) But all 3 look great!
ReplyDeletehahah. i completely agree! my tbr pile is absolutely insane ever since i entered the blogosphere, but i wouldn't regret doing so for a second!
ReplyDeleteooohh.. all the books you got looks really good! adding them to my wishlist!
Yes, I do love the way you are able to blame others for you book addiction. But it is absolutely true for me too. I'm reading books I would never read prior to blogging. That's a very good thing. Graphic novels is a good example.
ReplyDeletelol - where would we be without each other's influences, eh? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou will LOVE Ware :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with your thoughts and feelings. When it comes to books, I am a sheep in the flock. baaahhh :)
I love my reading friends too. I have found so many good books to read and always have a book in my hands it seems!
ReplyDeleteI gave you an award. I know that your blog isn't new to me, but I love it!http://cherylbaryl.blogspot.com/2010/06/new-blog-award_04.html
ReplyDeletelol, I'm easily influenced too. I read Kaye's review of A Cottage by the Sea and had to have it. How bad is that? Dekker's book is pretty good - he likes to build a good story.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I'm going to add Wedding Cake and A Cottage by the Sea to my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions.
I agree with the meme assesment, and you are right so many wonderful books to read that I would never have known about. Thanks to all those great lovers of books who take the time to share their thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI loved A Cotttage bt the Sea. Hope you do too!
