Show and Tell

Pieces of Me

There's more to me than just books and reading, so today I felt like sharing another hobby of mine that I love to do, which is scrapbooking. I was introduced to this hobby about 6 years ago and I fell in love with it. I made my Mom a scrapbook of her parents, siblings, my Dad, and me and my brother. After that I was hooked. I don't scrap every day but I do go almost once a month with my best pal Tracy and we spend the WHOLE day just having fun and getting a few pages done!! Here are some of my favorite pages that I would like to share with you today.

Marc learning how to eat...it only took him 13 years!!!

My cutie patootie nephew Simon at the beach.

My boys being goofy inside a photo booth!!!

Marcus with his best buddy Tyler...they've been friends since Kindergarten.

My boys at the beach a few years ago...Trouble is exactly right!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and if you're
kind enough to leave a comment
tell me what other hobbies besides reading do you enjoy?????

  1. I've enjoyed scrapbooking but not to the extent that you do it. My problem is that I've been saving stuff for years for my kids and some of it's in scrapbooks and some of its in photo boxes and now I'm trying to redo everything and get it put together. Massive undertaking that just scares me!

  2. I did not know you could have other hobbies except reading, lol. Nah I do like movies and tv, not a hobby in a way, but it is relaxing. And these days blogging too. I used to write but have not had the time lately.

  3. Those are great scrapbook pages. Well, one thing I like to do that I haven't done in a long time is paint--like figurines and stuff like that. I painted a Halloween mug a lot time ago (one that had a picture printed on it and you had to paint it). I loved that and it didn't turn out too bad.

  4. I always admire people who do scrapbooking. I have absolutely no patience or creativity in me to do it. I have barely enough patience to put a bunch of photos in an album.
It's awesome that you do it and do it so well.

  6. Staci, you are so creative and talented! These pages are such wonderful keepsakes! I have done a lot of cross stitch on linen and sewing. I also love cooking and gardening. I'd like to learn more about photography and give quilting a try, too.

  7. You've done a great job! On that first page you show with Marc he looks just like you! (well, not the aspect of him with the food on his face).

For my part I wish there were a bigger variety of stickers. It seems like the idea people think people only do a limited amount of things and there aren't enough general ones.

I was always horrible about saving stuff from the kids, although we do have photos (boxed up)!

  9. These are beautiful pages Staci! What great memories the boys will have looking back at these. I have some scrapbook supplies and haven't done much but really want to start. Do you any suggestions for a beginner scrapbooker? Hey, maybe you could do a post on that.
I knit some but that is about it for other hobbies.

  13. Your pages are beautiful but also a lot of fun to look at. I can only admire scrapbookers. My main passion is knitting and I love to sew too. Thanks for asking.

  14. I have never gotten into scrapbooking at all, but I definitely bead, knit and crochet. I can always find something to keep my hands busy!

  15. You are so talented and creative!! Do you read Laura's blog - maude & mozart? You two would get along great! I have no hobbies - just the stuff I do. I read, I cook, I plant, I watch movies and good television. That's about it. I do not and cannot sew, craft, knit, crochet, or scrapbook. You are just amazing!

  16. Scrapbooking sounds really cool, and I love your photos displaying some of your work.

Besides reading, I write...I think that is evident on my blogs, because my books are featured everywhere.

I also love decorating and collecting interesting objects and then photographing them.

Lately, creating and designing new blogs has fascinated me, which seems kind of like a "scrapbooking" thing in a different venue.

  17. You mean there's something worth doing besides reading? ;-)

It's been so long since I did any scrap booking. I had so much fun when I did do it.

My extracurricular life isn't very interesting. I'm a big movie fan and I like to listen to music and sing. I blog. And write. Does playing with the animals count as a hobby? LOL My job takes up a lot of my time and is very demanding.

  18. What gorgeous scrapbook pages. I LOVE them. I used to be a scrapbooker, but when my mom died and my youngest child was born, about 6 years ago, I lost my steam.

  20. Staci, these are fantastic! I've always wanted to scrap book but I'm not sure I'm patient enough for it. I'll stick to knitting and crocheting.

  21. Oh wow, those pages are gorgeous! I love scrapbooking as well. An aunt of mine actually got me into it. Last Christmas I made a scrapbook for my friend. It was a lot of work but so worth it. Now, I just have to finish one for myself. ;)
