2010 Reading From My Shelves Project

Diane is hosting a great challenge for next year and this is one that I really want to get serious about!! Read all about it below and then visit her blog to sign up and grab her button!

Here are the rules:

  • grab the button
  • decide how many books you want to read from your shelves (minimum of 20 - no maximum)
  • find a new home for the books once you read them
  • post the titles and the authors of books you've read and passed on
  • project runs from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010
Doesn't sound too hard does it??? I want to go for 50!! Hopefully, this will be one challenge I complete!!!

  2. I think I may do this one. Goodness knows I have plenty of books sitting on my shelves. :) Can the books crossover to other challenges?

  3. Ooh Ooh I think this could be just what I need, I'm too scared to add up the total number of unread books on my bookshelves (in excess of 250 lol) Thanks for the heads up, I'm off to check it out :-)

  6. I like the part about finding a new home for the books when you're done. This is definitely a challenge I need to consider!

  7. I read 50 of my own books this year for the Read Your Own Books challenge, it's a good goal. I completed 50 in the middle of October and will probably choose 50 again. This one is different in that you have to do something with the books. What if you want to keep them? It'll be fun to see where they end up. Fun challenge.
I've passed along an award to you :)

  8. Now this is one I could get serious about. I need to spend time with the ones I own. I also like the idea of passing them along to someone else. I've given a lot of books to the library so that's not a problem. Thanks for telling me about this challenge.

  11. Thanks for joining this one Staci. Someone asked: "Can the books cross over from other challenges"?? YES ABSOLUTELY, as long as the books leaves your house after you've read it!

    Have fun!

  12. Wow! 50! That shouldn't be to hard for you. I passed the Mia books on to Vicki at Reading at the Beach.

  13. The thing that will keep me out of this challenge is the part that says to pass the books on. I like to pass some of my books on, but definitely not all of the ones from my shelves!

  14. Definitely the type of challenge I need to sign up for! Though I have gotten better about buying so many books, I still have tons to get through. Now, the library is my problem! Here's to reading 50 of our own books next year!
