Ghostgirl by Tonya Hurley
**I saw these books at Walden Books this week and they looked interesting. Lucky me, my library had them!!!
Synopsis for Ghostgirl:Charlotte Usher feels practically invisible at school, and then one day she really is invisible. Even worse: she's dead. And all because she choked on a gummy bear. But being dead doesn't stop Charlotte from wanting to be popular; it just makes her more creative about achieving her goal.
Synopis for Ghostgirl: Homecoming-Charlotte Usher discovers that the afterlife isn't quite what she pictured when she's forced to intern at a hotline for troubled teens. Before she can officially cross over, she'll have to be a source of guidance for one such teen. The problem is she doesn't have much advice to offer since dying hasn't exactly boosted her confidence level.
Woman Strangled News At Ten by Laurie Moore
** As I was browsing the new book shelf I noticed this title and couldn't resist seeing what this book was all about. After reading the inside cover I was sold!!
Synopsis:Aspen Wicklow, a University of North Texas journalism grad down to her last $75, lucks out and lands a plum job on WBFD-TV's Public Defender in Fort Worth, Tex. Tig Welder, a hotshot gunning for an anchor spot, reminds Investigative Reporter Barbie never to try scooping him, while station manager J. Gordon Pfeiffer warns her never to become part of the story. Following either tip isn't easy after Aspen meets ruggedly handsome Spike Granger, a Johnson County sheriff who's on a rampage about prison overcrowding. Even more alarming is researching a missing person report on Candy Drummond, who pledged at the same sorority as Aspen. Candy later turns up a strangled corpse. The action hurtles to a cliff-hanging close that includes more than one tantalizing twist sure to leave readers eager for the sequel.

ReplyDeleteStill desiring popularity even after death? Makes me glad, once again, to be far from high school. I'll be curious to see what you think of this! I'm staying away from the library this week...
ReplyDeleteLol no none to blame, I can only blame one book, Dessen on others, the rest is all on me
ReplyDeleteInterested to see what you think of Ghostgirl. My daughter and I both thought it sounded really good. But then she got it out from the library and was very disappointed. Which was good for me, because it made me feel like there was one less book I needed to read. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay for a blameless week! I hope you enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteI'm staying home from the library for a while. I've gotten some great books for myself and can't wait to read them.

Ghostgirl sounds really neat! I do the same thing-if a book looks interesting at B&N, I write it down and get it from the library. :D

ReplyDeleteI have Ghostgirl on my TBR list and saw the 2nd book at the library but I'm just waiting to find the 1st one before I begin with these. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on them when your finished.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought that Ghostgirl was a graphic novel. It sounds interesting, anyway. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteI read GhostGirl last year and I thought the main character wasn't that likeable and yet I still really liked the book! I haven't read the second, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on this one!
