Mailbox Monday and It's Monday...What Are You Reading?

Mailbox Monday
is a gathering place for readers to share the books that
came into their house last week and explore great book blogs.
Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

I have no excuses. I have been bad, very bad. Today I'm just highlighting two of the books I requested from NetGalley because I'm ashamed of myself. Don't worry there are plenty more to come for future Mailbox Monday posts. In my defense, all I can say is that the covers of The Longings of Wayward Girls and The Lavender Garden are awesome and the synopsis of both sounded wonderful. Whoever writes those should be paid in GOLD!!

Hosted by
We discuss the books that we've read
and what we're planning to read for the week.

Read and talked about last week:
In The Pleasure Groove- great audio narrated by John Taylor of Duran Duran
What She Wants- fun romance book told from the male POV
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle- my thoughts on Book One

Bookish Thoughts to share this week:
The Best of Us by Sarah Pekkanen
Two DNF's from my Kindle Spring Cleaning
The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle Book Two
May Book Box- discussion thoughts about the books I will be choosing

  1. Those books look too good to resist! I hope they exceed your expectations!

  2. Staci, Staci ... you need a severe talking too lol but I'm off to check out NetGalley again so it won't be me talking ;) hmm interested to know what the DNF's were, I'll wait patiently til your post goes up lol.
Did I miss your thoughts on Temple of a Thousand Faces?

Have a wonderful week and enjoy all your new reads, your many, many new NetGalley reads :)

  3. Staci, your mailbox posts are too tempting for me because they take me straight to Netgalley!!! The Lavender Garden looks sooo good.

  4. Hehehehehehe... I am in love with Sheree's comment :)

  5. The Lavender Garden sounds like a delicious historical novel...Have fun reading and being bad!

  6. Sometimes it is fun to be bad! Can't wait to see why. Look forward to see what your DNF's were, and if I will totally avoid them or give them a try. Have a great week.

  7. Lavender Garden sounds like a good one.

  8. I agree with Laura, The Lavender Garden looks good. Can't wait to find out more about it!

  9. I like that you're doing a Kindle spring cleaning. I've been debating - what to do with kindle books I've read... or that I might not read? It's not like a print book that you can just give away. Are you allowed to give Kindle reads to other people?

Anyway - a romance from a male's pov, also sounds interesting. I'm not really into romance, but this might be good. Is it written by a man or woman?

    Have a great week
    My Reading Week

  10. Lavender Garden is on my radar.....will be watching for your thoughts. Happy reading!

  11. Netalley is such a dangerous place ;) I recently read The Longings of Wayward Girls as well. I hope you enjoy it!

  12. I'm always taken in by the beautiful covers you feature. I feel like I must read the books now!

  13. Now you're tempting me again with NetGalley! The covers are so pretty...

  14. I'm looking forward to Longing of Wayward Girls - just the title alone draws me in:) I had a busy few days so I never got to doing a MM post.

  15. Yep - those covers are great! Definitely one of the reasons I've been steering clear of Net Galley!

  16. Don't feel bad, Staci. Or rather, let's feel bad together! LOL I went on a NetGalley spree recently too. So many good books!

  17. We all have weeks when we can't resist the new books. I have The Lavender Garden, too, so I'm really looking forward to your review of that one. Enjoy!
