Mailbox Monday
is a gathering place for readers to share the books that
came into their house last week and explore great book blogs.
Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.
January Host: A favorite blogger of mine-
A Weekend With Mr. Darcy- I purchased this one for 1.99 for my Kindle. I squealed with delight when I saw the price and after reading and loving Dreaming of Mr. Darcy, I knew I had to get this one.
Nadia Knows Best- I'm working very hard not to go overboard with review books ( I decided on no more than 20 for the year. I can only get 6 more before I'm done), but when this one was offered by Sourcebooks/NetGalley I had to get it. I adore this author!! Can't wait.
--------------------------------------------------------------
We discuss the books that we've read
and what we're planning to read for the week.
Read and reviewed last week:
Books Can Be Deceiving- great cozy..recommend.
The Lost Wife- this one wounded me...but it's a MUST read.
Bookish Thoughts for this week:
Secrets by Freya North
A.B.C. Murders by Agatha Christie
Sitting on my nightstand:
Backseat Saints- my shelves
Irish Lady- Sourcebooks review copy
These (2) look fun Staci. Haven't read anything by these authors yet. -- enjoy
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy Mansell!!
DeleteI have Backseat Saints on my Kindle and I'm looking forward to reading it as well. I'll be waiting to hear your thoughts on it. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready to start Backseat Saints tomorrow!
DeleteMr, Darcy, again! I didn't now there were so many Darcy books. We should write one of our own too!
ReplyDeleteOh, great looking books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope to someday read Jill Mansell...I see her books everywhere, and I know that when that happens, I could be discovering my next favorite author.
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST and
MY WEBSITE
This book sounds sooooooooooo fun!! :):):):):):):):):):):)
ReplyDeleteVery jealous of Nadia Knows Best!!
ReplyDeleteIf it wasn't on my Kindle you know I would give it to you when I'm done!
DeleteOMG! Only 6 more for the year....that's it! I'm giving you my number so I can talk you down in the future :)
ReplyDeleteJK enjoy your books my friend.
What a great blog you have here!
ReplyDeleteJulie of The Tucker-Wolek Clan sent me over :) I'm a new follower and look forward to reading more of your posts and reviews... I've already found a few to add to my TBR list, thank you!!!
Hi Margie!!
DeleteJulie is great! I'm glad that you found some suggestions!! Hope to see you around and look forward to getting to know you!
Oooh, I didn't realize Mansell has a new book out! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIf you read Backseat Saints, listen to the MMBC interview with the author! :) I missed a few themes in the book, not realizing the research done for this book. The author is fun to listen to.

Have a great week!
thanks for the heads up, Mari!! That will enhance my reading experience!
DeleteYour thoughts on The Lost Wife were very emotional ... onto the wishlist it goes. I think I'll be checking out Nadia Knows Best too ... although I was trying to cut down on review books LOL.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you're only allowed 6 more books ... it's only January hahaha
Have a great week and happy reading :)
Yes, I got totally out of hand with requests and then decided to put an amount that I will accept. I am loving the freedom from review books!
DeleteMansell is an author I really must try!
ReplyDeleteSo jealous you got the new Mansell, but alas, I'm still not into reading ebooks.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading Dreaming of Mr Darcy. I'm also trying notto go overboard with review copies!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous about the new Mansell book, too. Can't wait to hear what you think of it. I thought A Weekend With Mr. Darcy was fun. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteJill Mansell . . . *sigh* I just love her and will have to search out this one. I just finished her Perfect Timing and loved it. Have a wonderful week, Staci, and happy reading. My MM is here
ReplyDeleteThe Lost Wife caught my interest.

I finally got an ereader for Christmas! (Yay me!) Hope you enjoy both your books. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind? I hope you're enjoying it so far???
DeleteA Sony Reader! I like the Reader so far, though the selection in their store seems pretty limited, which is a bummer.
Delete(Love the new embedded comments with Blogger!)
I've been wanting to read Jill Mansell for a while, but although I have one of her books on my shelf I just can't get myself to read it. I really need to soon!
ReplyDeleteThe thing I like about NetGalleys is that I don't have to finish them/like them/review them. If someone mails me a book I feel bad about not reviewing it, even if things get crazy; with a NetGalley, not so much so.
ReplyDeleteA new Mansell! The Darcy book looks cute too. I will have to see if it is still on sale. Only 6 more review books for the year!? I envy your will power!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying very very hard!!!
DeleteThose look like fun! I haven't read a Mansell book in a while, I should again sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, I got so excited to see Jill's book that I went over and requested it. I adore her books! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI love it! She's fantastic in my book!
DeleteI have Backseat Saints in my bookshelf and I just have to get to it. I look forward to your review.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting it tomorrow...really looking forward to it!
DeleteI can't wait to see what you think of the Darcy book.
ReplyDeleteYou talked me into ordering Weekend With Mr. Darcy. I've read a few pages and am already hooked.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was delightful and fun!!
DeleteWhen I saw the ratings my Goodreads friends gave Weekend with Mr. Darcy I bought it too!
ReplyDeleteThis is the year I will read a Jill Mansell novel :)
Yes!! You will love Mansell!
DeleteI devoured Agatha Christie as a teen but I haven't read any in almost 25 years, I think. It must be time to big up the dear old gal again!
ReplyDeleteI just finished ABC Murders last night...really enjoyed it and looking to pick up a few more of them on audio throughout the year!
Deletethis is a test
