Mailbox Monday- August 24th

Mailbox Monday
is hosted by Marcia at The Printed Page.
We share what books that we found in our mailboxes last week.

You know how sometimes you just feel the NEED to own a certain book? Well that happened to me last week and I couldn't resist ordering these two from ABE Books. Total bill- $10.00 with shipping!!!!

In The Woods by Tana French
I ordered it because I've checked it out from the library 2 times and never did get to it. Now I don't feel any pressure to get it read, but it's nice to know that it's waiting for me when I can get to it!!

The Lost Memoirs of Jane Austen by Syrie James
Nicole from Linus's Blanket reviewed Lost Memoirs of Charlotte Bronte. I really loved her thoughts on this book and went to my library site to request it. Found out that they didn't have any of Syrie James books. I was really disappointed. Then the need to acquire one of these books started to become an obsession. I found it at Barne and Noble and had to fight with myself to buy it. That night I got online and was determined to find it at a much lower cost. Thank you ABE Books!!

What great books made their way to your house????

  1. I own In the Woods but have yet to read it it. Having to read within the constraints of time is a reason why I prefer owning books to borrowing them from library.

  13. I thought everybody in the book blogging world has read Into the Woods! I just got it, from Costco actually. I was doing my Costco run, quickly snooped the book section and--there it was!

  15. I'm laughing as I read your comment and a few that followed about In The Woods. I've had it on my shelf for MONTHS and have yet to read it. My husband did a few months ago and liked it. One of these days. . .

Lost Memoirs of JA is on my wish list : )

  18. Like you, I bought In the Woods and it now sits patiently on the shelf. I want to read it because I've heard so many rave reviews but there's no pressure (as in ARCs) so I don't know when I'll get to it. ARGH!

I think In The Woods definitely qualifies as one. I hope you enjoy it. It was one of my favorite reads last year.

  21. I know exactly what you mean when you feel you NEED to have a book. I got one yesterday called Jane Austen: An Illustrated Treasury by Rebecca Dickson that was just calling my name too strong to be ignored!
