This nest was built atop my Christmas wreath that I accidentally (not really, I love the lights but my husband makes fun of me) left on the front door! Imagine my surprise when I looked up one day to see a robin sitting on top of the wreath! I had to sneak up there to take a picture of the eggs when she left. I love the color of robin's eggs!!!!
What a daring robin to choose your front door for her nest! Alwys wished I could see inside the nests of birds that build outside my window. But I'm too chicken to climb up and peek!
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing a lot of robin's eggs around lately. What a great photo of them!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! You'll have so much fun watching the babies grow.
ReplyDeleteWow! How beautiful! And how wonderful of you to provide a ready-made nest! :--)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great blue color. I had no idea.
ReplyDeleteThey're so blue! I thought they'd be paler.
ReplyDeleteHere's Mine
Such a beautiful color... but you crack me up with your Christmas wreath still hanging in June:-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect excuse to keep the wreath up... And I love the color of those eggs--they look like how robin eggs would be portrayed in a cartoon, too blue and perfect for real life!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I loveeeeeeee it!
ReplyDeleteNice! What a wonderful surprise. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is fantastic! The color is such a brilliant blue!
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking! AND a great example of why that particular color combination is currently so popular. BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteOh, how beautiful! I've never seen robin's eggs but in pictures.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it looked like the ideal nesting spot! Did they hatch? My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/vTUc8
ReplyDeleteLucky you. To get to actually see eggs in a nest. We have robins too, but they keep them safely away far up in our trees. We see broken eggs sometimes and baby fledglings. Of course, we have a cat. That probably keeps them further away from our house.
ReplyDeleteAww so sweet! Maybe next week you'll be posting a picture of wee little squawking chicks . . .
ReplyDeleteWOW....do you not use your front door?? I'm surprised otherwise that she didn't mind being disturbed.
ReplyDeleteWow! Like Diane, I'm wondering whether you use your front door much? It seems like a pretty busy place to build a nest otherwise. The blue eggs are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Snapshot.
They are such pretty eggs. I hope you are able to watch and snap pictures of their hatching and progress.
ReplyDeleteWow, how fabulous to have a nest right on your front door. The blue is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWow, such pretty eggs!
ReplyDeleteAwww ... precious little peeps will soon say hello to you!
ReplyDeleteAwww ... precious little peeps will soon say hello to you!
ReplyDeleteI just love the color of those eggs.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! The eggs are very pretty! I wish we had some birds' nests near our house, but between the cats and the dog I think they scare the birds off from nesting here. We do see a lot of birds eating in our backyard though.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend living in Durham, England (she works in London through the week and is at home on weekends) who went out to water the rhododendron she has in a large pot beside her front door-- and she found a nest filled with recently hatched baby blackbirds!
ReplyDeleteThose little blue eggs are so perfect! Sweet picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blue. There is nothig like robin's egg blue.
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing that they would pick your front door of all places! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet! We have a robin's nest in the tree next door. I keep trying to get a picture of them bathing in the little water bath we have out front but they are too fast for me.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she left those eggs on the front door!
I had no idea that robin's eggs could be that bright - they don't even look real!
