Books on my nightstand:
I really liked The Financial Lives of the Poets, too! It did come as a surprise; some of that I think was the title. It does fit the book but I think it gives off the wrong impression.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed the photo of your "reading companion". Cute!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books, Staci.
Here is my mailbox: http://suko95.blogspot.com/2010/10/mailbox-monday-pictorial-guide.html
Glad that you read a book out of your comfort zone and enjoyed it so much ;) It looks like you've got a busy week planned. I'm cheerleading in the readathon myself and looking forward to it. I'm hoping to participate as much as possible! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy A Cottage by the Sea. I loved it! I'm currently reading Wicked Company by Ciji Ware. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I bet A Cottage by the Sea is really good! I hope you have a great week in books.

ReplyDeleteAh, Bruce is in the sidebar now! Cool...
ReplyDeleteYou got some great books. I'll have to check out your review of Fallout. I read one book by this author...Identical.

ReplyDeleteWoo hoo for the read a thon! Next weeks What Are We Reading Monday should be amazing - I hope to get quite a few books in :)
ReplyDeleteI will be looking forward to your thoughts on Desiree :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Desiree when I first read it, it is a really great story, one of those stories where fact is actually stranger than fiction. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI've never even heard of The Financial Lives of Poets; will have to check out your review since you enjoyed it so much!
ReplyDeleteStill havent decided whether I'm doing the readathon. Will have to check the start time for Australia.
Have a wonderful week, happy reading and I'll pop in to cheer you on in the readathon even if I dont participate :)
Good win, I really want to read a Ware book one day :)
ReplyDeleteAmish book coming up, I see, kind of wants to read one of those too
I have had A Cottage by the Sea on my TBR list for a while but I don't have a copy yet... I'm interested to read your review after you read it. I wonder if it will stay on my list :)...
ReplyDeleteRAT - We have plans Saturday night and with the puppy and running I won't be able to commit. Good Luck though!
Looking forward to your thoughts on the Ciji Ware book. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI want to read The Thorn, I have a copy, but I keep neglecting to pick it up. I have just been so dissappointed with other new series from Beverly Lewis, but I love her older books.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Monday.
It's always great when an out-of-comfort-zone book turns out to be a pleasant surprise. Enjoy your books this week!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue what I am in the mood for...especially after Hunger Games...I still crave me some more fantasy, though, but not the dystopian kind...I think I will have fun choosing.
ReplyDeletewhoo hoo, that's a sassy lady at your mailbox . . . The Cottage sees a good pick this week. Although I'm also interested in Stealing Lumby. Did you read another Lumby book a short time ago?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new books-- they both look good!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to read the Lumby books and A Cottage by the Sea. I have read good reviews for all of them. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased to see you enjoyed The Financial Lives of Poets. I did not like the novel as much as you did. The Lumby series always makes for great fun! Have a wonderful week reading. My Monday is here: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/10/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-104.html
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to what you think of Running Around. I have it but haven't read it yet. I liked all the Lumby books and hope you do too. Happy Reading, Staci.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of the book waiting on your night stand! Makes me want to go and find them for myself.
ReplyDeleteJust finished reading "The Leper" by Sigmund Brouwer and "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" by John Boyne. Emotionally moved by both stories.
Hope you have a wonderful week! I'm plodding through a bio of George Washington, I'm enjoying it but I didn't realize how long it was. I have to have it done by Wed. night.
ReplyDeleteOnly one book showing the back of a woman this week. I was looking through the new BookPage, which I pick up from the library, and they had 6 books with that similar image on the cover. Two on one page, three on another page, and one by itsself. I would say it's a trend.
Making my rounds late on his, but just had to make sure I stopped by to see what last week was like for you and what you got lined up for this week. I enjoyed your review of The Financial Lives of the Poets and had to chuckle at your comment about what didn't work. I would tend to agree it is far-fetched.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Love that picture at the top. Enjoy the Ware book :)
ReplyDeleteHave you read the other Lumby books? I've got The House coming to me.
ReplyDeleteYour books that you won look like historical books. You should like them!
