Hello Friends!!!
Can I just say that all of you rock? Thanks for the well-wishes on my camping vacation. I can't tell you how cool it was to come home and read all of your comments. For the past day I've been doing laundry and trying to get caught up, but my heart is still back at our campsite! I love the northern part of Michigan, there's something pretty damn magical about it. I would like to share a few pics with you today and I promise to take better pictures of the forest this weekend. I'm headed back up to join my hubby on Friday night. So very excited because Marc is staying with a friend for the weekend and Matt and I get some quality couple time!!!!
This is a picture of the toys that we were riding. Starting on the far left is my hubby's newest toy (2 months old) and what I drove on the trails. I did manage to beat the crap out of it! I will show you those photos later!!! The bike in the middle is my husbands KTM..he rips it up out there and is an amazing rider! The blue/white bike is my son's Marc. He's getting better every time we go out.
This is a photo of my hubby holding onto the guard that I "accidentally" ripped off of the RZR. Somehow I slid into a tree and this sort of got stuck behind the tree and I kept accelerating....which resulted in this HEAVY DUTY piece of steel being stripped from the RZR. According to the hubby this could possibly be a $500 boo-boo!!!!
This is what our faces looked like when we rolled back into camp after 5 hours on the trails!! Pretty huh?
Don't those pics just warm your heart?? Marc and his girlfriend Shelby reading around the campfire????
This is the side where the metal guard used to reside!! Notice all of the scratches all over the plastic??? Well, I pulled off the whole side as we were riding down a huge washed-out area! Then because we couldn't fit through the trail my hubby tried to get the RZR out of the forest and he ended up damaging the other side of plastic!! He estimated that to replace those two pieces would be very $$$$$$!!! Aren't I lucky that he still loves me????
I've decided to market a new hair gel---DIRT! My hair was all over the place and it would stay like that until I washed it!! Marcus said that it looked like Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue. Me being a die-hard 80's person thought that was extremely cool!!!!!!!! Much to his chagrin...LOL!!
Thanks everyone for stopping by today and I will take photos of the woods to share with you on Monday! But here is an example of what we were doing.
LOVE the dirt hairdo! I rode an ATV once and had that same hairdo! And the other pictures are fun too! I'm so glad you had so much fun!

Looks and sounds like so much fun! Try as I might, I can't be a nature girl. I really admire people who get out there and aren't afraid to get dirty, though! It looks so fun.
ReplyDeleteLove the new 'do'. lol. It looks like you had so much fun. I used to love riding my trike. Love how you slid into that tree-don't you mean that the tree slid into you? lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice time with Matt...ooh la la.
First... Love the 80's!!! Only I was more a Madoona/Cyndi gal :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing these photos makes me super excited for tomorrow - my son and his girlfriend are coming for the weekend. I CAN'T WAIT! We won't see them until Christmas with school schedules - I'm tearing up just writing this.
Enjoy your vacation and thanks for sharing photo's with us.
Looks like a wonderful and relaxing time! I love the new do btw - hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI can just hear the happiness and excitement in your voice as I read this! So glad you had such a great time.
ReplyDeleteI loved your post and the pictures. I think you have something there with the dirt hair gel. You could make a killing on that! Yes, you look totally 80's! Looks like you all had fun and it's good to see Marc and Shelby reading by the campfire! See you soon!
ReplyDeleteLoved the photos! Those trails can get so dusty. The person in the back always looks the worst, but at least you matched. Everyone else looks the same way! Glad to see you had so much fun. Maybe I'll see you this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you all are enjoying each other and having tons of fun. It's gotta feel good to get away after 4 years. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your new hair product. You know...a couple of summers ago, I'm dead serious when I tell you my hairdresser had a product that had sand in it. It was suppose to give you that same look you have in the pic. I laughed when I saw that pic. Sounds like you had a great vacation.
ReplyDeletelol! Where's the Aqua Net for that photo?
ReplyDeleteI can smell the marshmellows cooking on the fire. What a great vacation and lots of fun too. I have never been on trails and I know I would love it. You have a very nice family too. Thanks for sharing :)
Your hair is PRICELESS! I haven't ridden a dirt bike in years, looks like it is still just as much fun.

ReplyDeleteHave a great time this weekend--and try not to break anything else!
Thanks for sharing all your vacation photos with us. It looks like you had a fantastic time. Your "voice" on this post sounds refreshed. So glad for you. I hope you and your husband have some romance in the woods.

ReplyDeleteOMG Staci!! I am a die-hard 80's fan too. I think that hairdo looked more like Joan Jett! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go camping with folks that actually know how to do it. I see families that are professional campers. They have it all down. Perfect site, perfect set-up...fantastic food. I am a planner but we'd be living on MREs and I'd be the one covered in bugs.
Looks like you guys know how to do it right!
It looks like you guys are having a great time! Whenever I do anything outdoorsy my thin hair wilts instead of standing up like that. My bad hair days are jealous of your bad hair day. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat great fun, Staci! LOL It sounds like you all had a wonderful time. Love the hairdo!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a fabulous time with your family! Love those pics, especially the one of you and the 80's hair, lol and the kids reading around the campfire! Hoping that you and the hubby had some wonderful couple time!
