Happy New Year, Staci...and what an awesome 2009 you've had!! I had a similar pathetic stat in the "reading from my shelves" category - something that will definitely have to change for 2010! Good luck with your resolutions...will get mine up later today or tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun to see how your reading stacked up over the year? It can be very revealing.
ReplyDeleteYour favorites list is awesome, Staci. I hope to get to Little Bee this year. And maybe Guernsey and Literary Potato Peel Pie Society.
Congratulations on the challenges you completed!
I wasn't done. :-( Silly computer.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to wish you luck with your reading resolutions this next year. They sound like very practical goals. And doable. Except maybe the not buying any new books for the first 6 months. That sounds like torture. LOL
Have a happy New Year, Staci.
Staci, it's been so much fun getting to know you this year. I love your blog and book suggestions. Looking at your favorite books list I see that I've read two: "Guernsey" and Labor Day - loved them both. I wish you a year of wonderful reading in 2010, also good health for you and yours.
ReplyDeleteI love stats! I need to work on my mine here soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun this year - thanks for being such a great blog buddy!
Holy Moly, you had a good year - 189 books. That's incredible. You've got some great resolutions. I'm not making any since I have no will power to carry them through. lol. Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope 2010 is a great year for you my friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Still Alice made my list also.
ReplyDeleteHere is mine

Congratulations on all your 2009 accomplishments, and good luck in the New Year.
ReplyDeleteI, too, plan to be more focused and document carefully what I do in the upcoming year.
I signed up for so many challenges, that I'm a little nervous. This will be my first full year of book blogging (2010), so I went a little crazy.
But if I don't finish everything, the sky won't fall. Right? I'll do the best I can. My most important resolution is to document things, followed by my resolve to get more involved in the blogging community and meet and connect with friends.
Staci, I just wanted you to know that I enjoy your blog so much. I don't think I have commented up to now, but I plan to do more of it in the future. Still Alice made my top 10-ish list this year also. I loved the last sentence of your post - welcoming 2010 with open arms - lovely picture.
ReplyDeleteI wish you and yours a lovely New Year. Take care!
This was an uplifting post. Congratulations on such a successful reading year. I agree with your goals for next year and plan to join you in most of them. ReplyDeleteI think you are the champion commentor! I see your little icon everywhere :)
ReplyDeleteI like the goals you made, and a nice job on the wrap up.
I have a silly question--I wanted to see what genre I read the most from this year--how do you find out what genre a book is classified as?
WOW, and I was glad to just get my 30 in for the year. You are one heck of a reader.
ReplyDeleteHave a great night.
Happy New Year!! :)

Great goals! I wish you good luck in achieving all of them. I love your list - Labor Day and Undercover are on my top 10 list too. I've read four of the books and have 2 others in my TBR pile.

ReplyDeleteStaci, You have had a great year of reading accomplishments! Amazing totals, you should be proud. I love your blog and getting to know you has been wonderful this year! You have great goals as well and I am trying to do the same with reading my own books and limiting review books. You are amazing with all that you've done with your blog with dial up! I hope that you can find a reasonable service as it's so worth the expense!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great year of reading! Here's to another one. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteYou had a great reading year! Good luck with your goals. Happy new year!

You did great this year! All those extra stats, wow, now that is organization. I would have NO clue how many library books I took out.
ReplyDeleteYou are a champion commenter now. I love to see your beautiful smiling face icon on my blog.
Guernsey and LPPPS ( title is too long) was a favorite of mine too. It has re read potential and now too many books have that for me. You know I'm older than dirt and I might not have time to read all the ones I want for the first time. Have a wonderful 2010!
You certainly had a banner year! That is an amazing list of books read! There are several on your list that I've added to my TBR! I'm sure 2010 will bring even more wonderful stories and characters your way!
ReplyDeleteHoly Sugar Monkeys, Staci...189 books! That's got to feel very satisfying...or it would if there weren't still 2.5 million books out that you'd like to get read, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I seriously almost bought Still Alice today because of you, but ended up putting it back down. Now, of course, I'm in regret mode.
What a stunning number of books, and a wonderful list of favorites. One of them - Still Alice - I really, really want to read soon, partly because of your review.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reading almost 200 books! WOW. We've read some of the same books and yet I didn't *love* a few so I need to run and read or reread your reviews. I like the six sentence rev concept. Best to you in 2010!
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo and congrats on the reading for 2009. I like your resolutions too. Happy New year sweetie!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you keep track of all of this, but you do a great job at it. I hope to get a lot more reading done this year than last year! I probably will since I have no computer anymore.
