Teaser Tuesdays and It's Tuesday...Where Are You?

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:
Grab your current read.
Let the book fall open to a random page.
Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
Please avoid spoilers!

Back in her mother's kitchen, Grace wondered if her grandfather had indeed arranged her parents' marriage. She'd read about such things in books, but rarely did it happen amongst the People.

Mamma left her family and her Amish community in the middle of the night. Whatever is going on with her? I have to find her, because Dat's heart is broken. Plus, we love her and need her back with us....no matter what the secret may be that she's hiding.

  10. Oh, I wonder where she went. This sounds like a really good book. I read a book earlier this year with a similar premise, called A Complicated Kindness. The mother takes off in the middle of the night and daughter needs to take care & comfort father. However, they lived in small Mennonite community, rather than Amish. It was a very emotion-filled book, but I liked it a lot.

  14. It's Tuesday and I'm in New York City, 1975, the year I was born!

"I only wanted to reconnoiter. But every girl I hear bussing on corners makes me think of you, Kitten. Even though I've never heard you sing. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was you."
