Movie Review: Zombieland

Mom: Marc had been hasseling me ever since he knew Zombieland was coming out. I gave in to his incessant whining and took him to the movies on Saturday.

Marc
: So after incessantly bugging mom to take me to see zombieland, I finally struck her good nature after asking with a sweet look on my face. After seeing the movie I think we can both say that we're happy we took an adventure to Zombieland!

Mom
: I thought th
e movie would be scary and full of gore. Well, it was fairly gory. I mean we are talking about zombies after all. But it was not scary at all. In fact, it was very funny and there were times that everyone was laughing out loud in the audience. Woody Harrelson is a riot in this movie. He played his part perfectly and I believed him!!

Marc
: The thing that I thought was funny and very important to the story were the rules. The main character in the story, Columbus, had a certain set of rules that he always went with.
  1. Cardio- Stay fit! No offense meant to the huskier audience, but to stay alive you have to stay fit. Zombies get the fat ones first.
  2. Avoid bathrooms- Zombies soon learned to get you at your most vulnerable, and would wait until you were sitting on the toilet, all relaxed to take a dookie.
  3. Double tap- Don't be stingy with your ammo. If you shoot a zombie and it looks like it may be squirming, don't think about it, put another shot in its head.
Mom: Overall, I really enjoyed myself. I didn't think that Zombies would really interest me, but I was wrong. If you enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead" then I think you will really like this one. It has it all- humor, funny storyline, great actors, Bill Murray, romance, the geeky-awkward teenager, a great road trip, Twinkies, and an awesome Zombie killing roller coaster ride!! Sign me up for the next one!

Marc: I don't have much else to say except for the fact that I walked away with a smile on my face and a happy feeling in my heart. When it comes to movies, what else can you ask for? If you read this and you don't go to see Zombieland right away.... well, I just feel sad for you... 'cause it was awesome. P.S. Dear Santa, Please bring me this movie when it comes out on DVD. Love, Marc

  1. Great review and I think you two should make it a regular feature. Of course, Marc, that might mean you'd have to see "mom movie" . . . You've actually tempted me to see this - I'll report back : )

  2. I love the dual review! What's really funny is that my husband (not my young son!) has been bugging me to go see this movie! But Staci, if you made it through, I guess I can too!

  10. I love the dual review. This movie hasn't released in India, but I'm sure it'll come on TV in a few months, so I'll keep an eye out for it.

  12. Our whole family loved Zombieland. I think we felt that Shaun of the Dead was just slightly better--just slightly--but yeah, when Zombieland comes out on DVD? Family movie night.

I loved Shaun of the Dead and figured this movie had to be about the same. Glad to hear the previews live up to the movie.
