Sharing our childhood memories

with our son Marc!! Matt, Marc, and I are sitting here watching, "Snoopy, Come Home." Don't you remember when you were a kid in the 70's/80's and you couldn't wait for a holiday so that you could watch a Snoopy Special? I miss those days when you had something "special" to look forward to. The only time that you got to watch these shows was once a year and your butt was there at 7p.m. watching CBS!!! I had to watch (5 times) the part where Snoopy goes into the library and finds a book about bunnies and then starts laughing hysterically until he gets kicked out. Matt and I sat there laughing so hard that tears poured down my face!! Well, gotta run cause Snoopy and Woodstock are trying to escape from the bad girl who wants to keep Rex (aka: Snoopy) and Woodstock.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Finished another book....I'm lazy and loving it!

These books are just plain fun. This one is way more mature than the other two but it fit nicely into the story line of the 3 friends growing up and getting ready to graduate. I hope that Lauren Myracle will write another one about the girls during their Freshman year of college!!

And for further proof that I don't do much outside of reading, I'm on book #98 for the year!!!

Lazy Friday

Well, we're all just sitting around still in a turkey coma and enjoying our lazy Friday. I'm one of those people who do NOT see any reason to get up at the crack of dawn to fight with people over "stuff" just because it is marked down. Now, I might do that if my kids were still little and a good deal was to be had, but at their ages their wish lists are much easier to handle than in the past! So instead of shopping, I've been drinking coffee, eating pumpkin pie (for breakfast! yummy), watched "Family Stone" this morning and cried, drank some more coffee, ate some onion wraps, read my book and am now watching "Outbreak" and catching up on blogs. I hope everyone out there had a great Thanksgiving and I hope my crazy sister-in-law Heather got some great deals at 5 a.m. this morning!!

One of the best books this year!

This book was so many things; riveting, thought-provoking, horrifying, hopeful, joyous. I want to thank Laurie Halse Anderson for writing about a time period that I "thought" I knew about. Her book clearly shows me that I have much to learn. The story is based around Isabelle, a young slave girl, who is sold to a very cruel Tory family. Everything takes place in New York. You will find yourself crying one minute and then totally outraged the next. If you enjoy historical fiction then I believe you will like this. If you teach the Revolutionary War time period, then you may want to read this to give your students a different glimpse into a slave's life during this war. Very enlightening and most certainly assured that you would have plenty to talk about!! Best part, she's writing a sequel!!

Here's the news for New Moon

Twilight Movie

So today I left home at 10 a.m. so that I could be the first person in line for the Twilight movie showing at 11 a.m. I was so excited to be going out all by myself to a movie! It has been a very long time since I've been to the theater and I was really excited to see if this movie lived up to the book that I dearly loved. Well, in my humble opinion, the movie rocked!! I loved every single minute of it. There was laughter, romance, awesome views of the country, and action!! The lady that wrote the movie did the book justice and then some. I thought Edward (Robert) was so believable and you could see the anguish in his eyes every time he looked at Bella and had to control his desires for her! And Bella! she was absolutely wonderful. I really liked every single character and now seeing them IRL they totally fit that character. After seeing the initial casting I wasn't so sure if some of these kids could pull off their new characters, but they did. I just found out online that they're already working on New Moon!! I can not wait......until then I'm re-reading Twilight to help savor that love thing I've got going on for Edward!!
